My mother just told me (1/17/08) that a surfer died in Florida after swallowing red tide water. There is NO information to be found on the web! This is a very serious threat to all life. Can you find more info on this death?
Comment by Liz January 18, 2008 @ 3:01 amPS…that was on the east coast, Volusia county.
Comment by Liz January 18, 2008 @ 3:01 amYou are correct, I couldn’t find a story regarding a Surfers death either. I did find several new ‘news’ stories regarding red tide however. And water woes in Orlando.
Comment by earthrehab January 18, 2008 @ 2:15 pmSeveral new funds avialable to start a Water Quality Monitoring program are available from EPA and DEP.
Unfortunately,
This water catastrophe will face Florida for years to come.
Some very bad decisions have been made in the past few years.
We had better clean up our act soon.
